Moose Tracks Hot Cocoa Bombs

6 Servings

If there’s one dessert to keep you cozy this winter, it’s these Moose Tracks Hot Cocoa Bombs! You can enjoy these on their own or place at the bottom of your cup before adding hot milk for an extra indulgent treat.

For this recipe, you’ll need a circular mold tray to make the hot cocoa bombs. You can use any Moose Tracks ice cream flavor but we’re using Original Moose Tracks.

Instructions:

  1. Melt ½ cup of the chocolate melting wafers. Place it in a large microwave safe dish and microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between cycles, until smooth.

  2. Slowly pour the melted chocolate into hot cocoa bomb molds and smooth out to make an even coating around the outside. You can use a spoon to guide the chocolate around the mold.

  3. Place the molds in the freezer for about 10 minutes to let them set.

  4. Now, remove from freezer along with your carton of Original Moose Tracks ice cream.

  5. Add ¼ cup of chocolate melting wafers to a microwave safe dish and melt as you did before. You’re going to use this as the “glue” for your hot cocoa bomb.

  6. Gently pop the hot cocoa bomb shells out of the molds and place on a plate. Add a scoop of Moose Tracks to half of the hot cocoa bomb molds. If you plan to enjoy these like traditional hot cocoa, in this step, you can also add in 1 tbsp of hot cocoa mix to the hot cocoa bomb molds. This will create a richer hot cocoa, but it’s not necessary.

  7. Using the freshly melted chocolate, take an empty mold and place it on top of the hot cocoa bomb mold filled with the ice cream. Use a small spatula to spread the melted chocolate on the seam to glue the two molds together and make one ball.

  8. Place in the freezer until you’re ready to serve. You can either enjoy as-is or, if you used cocoa mix in step 6, place in the bottom of a mug and add hot milk to melt the bomb and enjoy as hot cocoa!
