Elevate classic hand pies with these Moose Tracks Ice Cream Hand Pie Sandwiches!
Although they look like an impressive pastry, this recipe comes together quickly and is simple to create.
Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Unroll piecrusts on a lightly floured surface. Using a 3½-inch round cookie cutter, cut 16 rounds from pie crusts. Place the rounds in a single layer on prepared baking sheet.
-
On the baking sheet, spread peanut butter on 4 pie crust rounds and hot fudge on 4 separate pie crust rounds.
-
Now, you should have 8 filled rounds and 8 plain rounds. Using your fingertips, lightly dab the edges of each round with water. Top each filled round with a plain pie crust round, and seal edges with a fork.
-
Whisk together egg and 1 tsp water in a small bowl. Brush egg wash over tops of pies, and sprinkle evenly with sugar.
-
Bake in preheated oven until golden brown and flaky, about 14 to 16 minutes.
-
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
-
Place a scoop of Original Moose Tracks ice cream on the peanut butter-filled pie, and sandwich together with a hot fudge-filled pie. You should have four ice cream hand pie sandwiches.
-
Serve immediately or wrap sandwiches individually in plastic wrap and freeze. Enjoy!
