10K Scoops 2024 Tour Stop #2: Traverse City, Michigan!

June 10, 2024

Michiganders, we’re headed back to our home state! We’re bringing our 10,000 Scoop Challenge to Traverse City on Thursday, June 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rotary Square! We’re partnering with Country Fresh to serve 10,000 scoops of FREE Original and Cherry Moose Tracks Ice Cream in a citywide ice cream social benefiting The Salvation Army of Traverse City. 🍒

For every scoop eaten, we’ll donate $1, with the goal of scooping 10,000 Country Fresh Moose Tracks Ice Cream cones and raising $10,000 for the Salvation Army in just four hours.

We need your support and participation to reach this goal! If you like ice cream and are in the Traverse City area, join the fun and enjoy a free scoop on us!

You might be wondering why we chose to host in Traverse City? Last year, we hosted our last event of the season in our hometown – Grand Rapids. We thought it was only fair to take the excitement up north to share our love for Country Fresh Moose Tracks Ice Cream. Our friends at Country Fresh launched Cherry Moose Tracks as a summer limited time flavor, so what better place to celebrate this flavor than in the cherry capital? Best of all, we get to support Traverse City’s local community programs through The Salvation Army while doing it – it’s a win-win!

More details on the city and exactly who you can expect to see our 10K Scoops event in Traverse City are listed on our Facebook event page and below:

From lush vineyards to the sandy dunes and clear lake waters, Traverse City is filled with iconic landmarks and experiences like:

  • Old Mission Peninsula: Old Mission Peninsula is arguably one of Michigan’s most unique and scenic experiences. Home to countless wine and culinary amenities, scenic hikes and private beaches, antique shops and cozy inns, this destination is a sight to see in Traverse City.
  • Mission Point Lighthouse: Located at the tip of the Old Mission Peninsula, Mission Point Lighthouse stands as a classic piece of Michigan history. Visitors are invited to enjoy a historical tour of the lighthouse, explore the miles of surrounding trails, stroll the beach, simply relax and more.
  • Lake Michigan Shoreline: Lake Michigan surrounds Traverse City with over 230 miles of its clear, serene beaches and shorelines. Whether you’re on the Peninsula, in the suburbs or heart of downtown, you’re moments away from freshwaters and peaceful sunsets.
  • Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park: If you want to explore outside of the city, Sleeping Bear Dunes is under an hour away. Filled with breathtaking landscapes, beaches, forested islands and miles of hiking trails, visitors have a variety of experiences to choose from during their stay.

Who will attend this event? Apart from the public, Moose Tracks invites a variety of local celebrities (like local sports teams, Traverse City police/fire departments, even the mayor), plus television stations, radio stations, and more.

  • WGTU-TV (ABC)
  • WPBN-TV (NBC)
